Neem's Summer 2026 Menswear Trend Predictions

Neem's Summer 2026 Menswear Trend Predictions

Here are the Neem Spring/Summer 2026 menswear trend predictions, through a Gen X lens. Let's start with the beginning...

Gen X has simply been doing their thing. Unbothered. Understated. Consistently well dressed.

You grew up watching your parents dress for stability and your older siblings dress for rebellion, and you learned something crucial: the real rebellion was doing neither. While the rest of fashion swings wildly between nostalgia and novelty, chasing the next algorithmic moment, you stayed grounded. You chose clothes that made sense, felt good, and lasted. You didn't photograph them obsessively. You just wore them. And as we move into summer 2026, it turns out that approach is exactly what menswear needs.

So, what should men wear in Summer 2026?

Craftsmanship, Revisited (And Finally Explained)

Craftsmanship isn't new. What is new is the expectation that it comes with clarity.
You've been burned before. You remember when "heritage" just meant paying more for the same thing. When "Made in Italy" was stamped on garments assembled in five countries. You know the difference between a marketing story and an actual story. So it makes sense that in 2026, men want to know:

Where something was made. Who made it. Why it costs what it does.

This is about confidence in what you're wearing. It's about the quiet satisfaction of knowing exactly what you bought and why. The same clarity you'd want in a car, a tool, or a house. When we built our own supply chain at the beginning of Neem we knew this would become increasingly important to you but also allowed us to measure and offset our carbon emissions. Learn more about our climate mitigation schemes here.

Nick visited the farm we grow our Regenerative cotton in Turkey, this is our traceable farm to fibre philosophy.

Speaking of Regenerative Cotton, see a focus on regenerative practises rising in menswear. We have began to see this in wine and food, and this summer, Neem's Undyed Antique White bomber Jacket reminds us that cotton begins with the soil. We must actively use methods, like regenerative farming, to not only protect the soil in which cotton grows, but leave it in a better, regenerated condition (think more biodiversity, more carbon sequestered etc).

Elegantly Casual: Overshirts to Replace Quarter Zips

There's a growing desire to dress up again, just without the excess. You watched the 90s happen. You saw how that decade destroyed the formality of the 80s and made it cool to dress like you'd just woken up. There was freedom in that. But there was also something lost, the idea that putting thought into how you present yourself is a form of respect, not narcissism. In 2026, workplace dressing is quietly reclaiming that.
Workplace dressing leans toward soft structure and everyday refinement. Not status dressing. Just well-made staples worn with ease. Unstructured jackets. The overshirt will replace the quarter zip...
There's a reason. Overshirts have always had credibility, rooted in workwear and military heritage (we go into more depth here), popularised in the 60s by men like Paul Newman, who understood that casual elegance wasn't something you announced, it was something you wore. In 2026, the overshirt is having its proper moment because it does what menswear should do: it works. Thrown over a tee, it elevates instantly. Worn open over a proper shirt, it adds texture and intention. It layers. It travels. The quartered zipped finance bros of today may become the cool overshirt wearers of tomorrow. We even have a summer short sleeve overshirt for those bright days ahead.

The return of Personality: Bandanas

And yes, you're seeing a quiet return of personality through bandanas and texture. Summer 2026 menswear will see bandanas flourish. The perfect way to finish a look - the final detail that allows experimentation in a subtle way. If you’d like some neckerchief knot-tying inspo, have a look here.

When it comes to colour trends in menswear 2026, the POP is in. We’ve already always embraced a pop of colour socks. A pop of yellow here, and a rich green there, it's a place where men can truly have judgement-free fun!

Mixing Styles: Formal Fabrics, Relaxed Cuts

This summer 2026, menswear will see the rise of technical fibres that are designed to help with breathability, thermoregulation and performance. Imagine a shirt built for days out playing golf, only to be worn the next day (without the need to be washed) for a meeting in the office. This is where I introduce the Neem comfort shirt...

Technical merino wool being used as the key fibre in blazers , allowing them to be worn like cardigans. It reflects how you actually live now: moving between work, travel, home, and outdoors without changing outfits. You don't have time for a work wardrobe and a weekend wardrobe and a travel wardrobe. You have a life. Your clothes need to move through it with you.

Natural Fibres, Wellness, and Dressing Better, Not Louder

There's a reason natural fibres continue to rise, and it's bigger than fashion. It’s predicted that the global wellness economy might be forecast to reach $9.8 trillion by 2029, and so Neem predicts that we will also continue to see a rise in natural skin-friendly fibres, as part of a shift to live with our wellbeing in mind.

You've probably realised that what you put on your body actually matters. Merino wool regulates temperature. It doesn't need washing as often. It actually works. Organic and recycled cotton is dependable and breathable. Whilst TENCEL™ is derived from natural materials, responsibly produced, fully biodegradable, so returns back to nature.

why is merino wool used in menswear?

These fibres (that follow nature’s cycles) quietly do the right thing, for comfort, for longevity, and for the environment. Which feels very Gen X, frankly. You're not trying to save the world through your wardrobe. You just refuse to be complicit in harming it if there's an alternative that works (a lot of the time) better than synthetic fibres.

Slowing Down, Dressing Better

Summer 2026 menswear isn't about reinvention. It's about refinement.
The most modern thing a man can do now is dress with intention, choosing fewer pieces, made better, worn often...

…and that's a trend worth keeping.
