Merino Wool T-Shirt
The Neem merino t-shirt is built for men who want a t-shirt that does more. It’s soft against the skin, breathable through a long day, and refined enough to wear under a jacket or on its own. They’re also regeneratively farmed and traceable to farms in New Zealand.
A merino t-shirt isn't just a warmer alternative to cotton. The fibre is naturally temperature-regulating, so it keeps you comfortable whether you're using it as a base layer or wearing it alone in warmer weather. It also resists odour at a fibre level, which means fewer washes and a longer working life.
Layering with Our Merino T-Shirt
Every men’s merino wool t-shirt in the Neem range is designed around the same principle as the rest of our tailoring: fit that works in real life. We've kept the silhouette simple and versatile: cut a tad longer on the sleeve and body for a more flattering look.
Most t-shirts are built for a single season. The Neem merino t-shirts are built for all-year wear. A classic piece, with all the engineering in the fibre itself.
Merino Wool T-shirt vs. Organic Cotton T-Shirt Men’s Style
If you’re choosing between a merino wool t-shirt and an organic cotton t-shirt, the two solve different problems.
Organic cotton reduces pesticide use at the growing stage, but it's still a plant fibre that needs washing more often and wears differently over time. Merino is a natural, biodegradable protein fibre that performs across more conditions (travel, layering, all-day wear) without losing shape. We chose merino for that versatility and for its traceability to farms in New Zealand. We also have a small organic cotton t-shirt range.
Made with Traceable New Zealand farmed wool
Our merino wool is traceable to farms in New Zealand. That means knowing how the sheep are cared for, including a commitment to non-mulesing.
The result is a merino wool t-shirt with a lot going on beneath its simple shape. Naturally breathable, thermo-regulating and biodegradable. A plain T-shirt, made from a fibre worth knowing.

FAQs
A 100% merino wool t-shirt is made from merino sheep's wool rather than cotton or synthetic fibre. It's naturally temperature-regulating, resists odour, and holds its shape better over repeated wear than a standard cotton t-shirt.
Yes and no. A merino t-shirt keeps you warm in cool conditions but also breathes well when it's warmer, because merino fibre regulates temperature. That's what makes it suited to travel and layering, not just cold weather.
Look at fibre quality, weight, and fit first. A well-made wool t-shirt should feel substantial without being heavy, keep its shape wash after wash, and work as easily under a jacket as it does on its own.
Yes. A merino shirt is a perfect travel companion specifically because it resists odour and creasing, meaning it can be worn multiple times between washes without losing freshness, which is useful when packing light matters.
Merino needs washing far less often than cotton, since the fibre resists odour naturally. We suggest seven wears before washing and steam in a bathroom (post shower) or air near a window, as washing less, protects the garment. It’s also important to protect from moths and avoid washing with trousers (zips) that may snag the fabric. Our Neem merino t-shirts are machine-washable at 30°C. The key to maintaining the t-shirt’s shape is in the drying process. Merino wool dries quickly, air-dry on a line or for best results lay flat, and of course never tumble dry.
A wool t-shirt typically outlasts a standard cotton tee several times over, needs washing less, and holds its shape rather than stretching or thinning, which is why it works out better value across the life of the garment, not just at checkout.
The wool itself is grown in New Zealand and spun in Italy. Our merino wool t-shirt is finished through the same production standards as the rest of the Neem range: small high quality batches.
