Here at Neem we are focused on carving a new way for sustainable mens fashion, producing environmentally friendly clothing that not only look sharp, but are ethically smart too. Being a climate conscious chap doesn’t have to stop at your wardrobe, you can prioritise other important areas of you life too – such as drink.
There are some fantastic sustainable drinks’ brands out there, the booze and non-booze variety, that not only inspire us from an ethical standpoint, but taste delicious too. Whether you reach for a glass of wine when off duty, or keep purely to the non-alcohol variety, there are plenty of ethically sourced tipples to choose from. Bottoms up!
Avallen Spirits
Avallen, old Cornish for 'apple tree', is a fruity apple spirit that's crisp, fresh, delicious and made here in the UK. The first carbon negative Calvados, which happens to be arguably the most sustainable spirit. Avallen are committed to having a positive impact on the planet and state that every bottle of Avallen actively removes 2.73kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, the equivalent of driving 21km amd used 13x less water than the industry average.
Borough Wines
Borough Wines provide eco-friendly sustainable wine solutions and are a fountain of knowledge on zero waste (something we are focussed on here at Neem – zero waste menswear) wine and how to drink more ethically. They provide a bottle return scheme which brings a new, sustainable lease of life to the traditional wine bottle; each bottle can be returned, sterilised, and reused at least 30 times, reducing the carbon footprint of each bottle by up to 95%. They also offer a zero-waste wine list offering a selection of sustainably produced wines. We particularly loved the Abruzzo organic Montepulciano, as we are partial to most things Italian.
Pentire
Pentire started with a deep love and appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Creating a non-alcoholic spirit which captures the beauty, power and extraordinary flavour of plants. Where possible, they use Fair Trade & Organically Certified ingredients, accredited by the Soil Association, and extracted naturally. Their range of packaging is plastic free. All of their cardboard is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable.
What we love about Pentire’s is not only their environmental and sustainable focus but the ability to indulge in a thirst quenching drink or two, that keeps fuzzy heads at bay.
Lucky Saint
Lucky Saint is a non-alcohol lager for people who want to drink a beer full of flavour and rewarding those who aren’t drinking, an option to enjoy some golden nectar they truly deserve. We are right behind it, we think this is the best low alcohol lager we’ve ever tried. By sourcing the finest ingredients and creating a tailor made brewing process, Lucky Saint deliver an alcohol-beer ‘worth drinking’. Don’t be afraid to pair with food.
Cheers! Throw on your (ethically sourced) glad rags and raise a glass to celebrate sustainable drinking, what ever your taste.
